Characteristics

„Coral Sunset” peony is a beautiful hybrid cultivar of the common garden peony (Paeonia lactiflora) with large, showy, and fragrant blooms. The flowers are a striking coral-orange color that deepens to shades of red and pink in the center, giving them a sunset-like appearance. Each bloom has a cluster of golden stamens in the center, which adds a touch of warmth to the overall effect
The double blooms’ average diameter is 15 cm and can have up to 40 petals and up to 60 cm tall. They bloom from late spring to early summer and make wonderful cut flowers, lasting several days in a vase.

Origin Coral Sunset Peony

„Coral Sunset” peony is a cross between the common garden peony (Paeonia lactiflora) and the less common species Paeonia peregrina. It is distinguished by its large, double flowers with coral-orange petals that deepen to shades of red and pink in the center. The flowers have a sweet, pleasant fragrance and bloom from late spring to early summer.
The Coral Sunset Peony is a relatively new introduction, created by Don Hollingsworth of Hollingsworth Peonies in Missouri, USA, and first released in 1981. It has become a popular garden plant, valued for its stunning color and lovely blooms.

Flower Care

Here are some care recommendations for a peony bouquet: When you receive the peonies bouquet, carefully remove it from its packaging. Under running water, cut the flower stems diagonally at a 45-degree angle with clean and sharp scissors. This will prevent air bubbles from forming in the stems, which can obstruct water uptake. To prevent bacterial growth in the vase, remove any leaves or foliage that are below the water line. Choose a vase that is clean and large enough to hold the peonies. Fill it with clean, fresh water. If the bouquet includes flower food, mix it into the water according to the package directions. If you don't have flower food, you can add a pinch of sugar to the water to help keep the water clean and the flowers nourished. Change the water every two days and recut the stems at a 45-degree angle to assist the flowers in absorbing water. You can help ensure that your peonies bouquet stays fresh and beautiful for as long as possible by following these steps.
